High-density polyethylene (HDPE) electrofusion fittings have become an indispensable component in water, gas and sewage pipe systems due to their excellent corrosion resistance, impact resistance and excellent flexibility. As an efficient and reliable way to connect HDPE pipes, the standardization and accuracy of the installation process directly affects the safety and durability of the entire pipe system. Therefore, when installing HDPE electrofusion fittings, it is particularly important to follow a series of professional operating specifications and precautions to ensure the quality of welding and the long-term stability of the system.

Preparation
Preparation of tools and materials
Before installation, all necessary tools and materials must be fully prepared. This includes HDPE electrofusion fittings, HDPE pipes, electrofusion machines, cleaning tools, thermometers and other equipment. Lack of necessary tools will not only cause delays in the installation process, but may also cause operating errors, thus affecting the overall effect of welding.
Check fittings and pipes
Before installation, be sure to carefully check the specifications, sizes and materials of HDPE electrofusion fittings and pipes to ensure that they match each other. Any mismatch may result in welding failure or pipe leakage, which will affect the overall performance and safety of the system.
Environmental conditions
The temperature and humidity of the installation environment need to meet appropriate standards. Electric fusion is usually carried out in an environment of 0°C to 40°C. Too low or too high a temperature may have an adverse effect on the welding effect. In addition, outdoor welding should be avoided in strong winds or rainy days to reduce the interference of environmental factors on the welding quality.

Surface preparation
Cleaning the contact surface
The success of electric fusion depends largely on the cleanliness of the contact surface. Use appropriate cleaning tools (such as sandpaper or special cleaning agents) to thoroughly remove dirt, grease and oxide layers on the surface of pipes and fittings. Make sure the surface is dry and smooth to achieve the best welding effect.
Check the contact surface
Before welding, carefully check the contact surface to ensure that there are no defects such as cracks, pits or other physical damage. These defects will directly affect the strength and reliability of the fusion and may cause failures in subsequent use.

Precautions during installation
Butt fittings
When inserting the HDPE pipe into the electric fusion fitting, it is necessary to ensure that the insertion depth meets the specifications. There is usually a marking line on the fitting, and the pipe should be inserted to the marking line. Too shallow or too deep an insertion may result in a poor weld, which in turn affects the seal of the pipe.
Alignment and fixing
Before electrofusion, ensure that the pipe and the fitting are precisely aligned. Use a clamp or other fixing tool to ensure that the position remains unchanged to avoid displacement during welding. Any deviation may cause uneven welding and affect the sealing effect of the pipe.
Connecting the power supply
When connecting the power cord of the electrofusion machine to the electrode of the fitting, it is necessary to ensure that the connection is firm and not loose. Loose connections will cause unstable current, which will affect the quality of the weld. Ensuring that the power supply is well connected is a key step to achieve high-quality welding.
